The Mark at 2600 is managed by Stonemark Management LLC, a company originated in Atlanta, Georgia.
It is estimated that about $1.3 million will be invested in the renovation.
As with many other takeovers, I'm sure they will work hard to brand this property themselves. Unfortunately, they are not off to a great start!
Southern Hills Apartments - Prior Management
*I have completed a number of reviews and sent emails to upper management which I will leave links to. You won't want to miss them!
Clearly, the prior Southern Hills Apartments management did as little as possible to the neighborhood, once it was up for sale.
I will attempt to keep my perspective on the latter management company, Stonemark Management. However, the story must begin somewhere...
I do want to point out that some very simple steps could have been taken by new management to prevent anyone from ever knowing.Great going, Angela Ohlinger (Dallas Regional Manager)!
When I moved here, the refrigerator was in bad shape.
Here's a link to the second Southern Hills Apartments review!
The carpet had been freshly cleaned, so the smell was pleasant when I initially viewed the apartment. When I got moved in...I noticed the smell of DOG.
There wasn't much that I could do at this point, but make a fuss about it. I was so overcome with other problems, the smell kind of took a back-burner.
The apartment had not been "made-ready" at all!
The walls were painted and the carpet cleaned. Not one staff member had come to approve this apartment to be "ready."
Not only that, but I had nowhere to put my food in transit. I lost about 150.00 worth off grocery that could have been saved if the appliance had been replaced within two days.
I went without a refrigerator for a total of 7 days!
If you think I didn't ask for a concession, think again!
I had to
- clean the apartment
- eat out for a week or eat out of a can
- the place is infested with roaches
- it smells like a dog
- and I lost my grocery that I had
The new manager (Tammy) offered the same refrigerator to me, maintenance did a shoddy job with the make-up make-ready, left yeah in my apartment, etc...
The new property management company, Stonemark Management, claims to have been in business over 20 years. As the new representative of Southern Hills Apartments, not only did they deny me a concession, saying it wasn't they're problem; but they couldn't even come up with a measely Starbuck's card to try to appease me.
Now that's what I call resident retention!
Southern Hills Apartments Out | The Mark at 2600 In
I have now settled with the fact that I'm stuck with this smell until they fix it. I eventually received a new refrigerator and treated the unit for roaches. Parking is absolutely herendous and it's a shame when you pay a premium to live on the bottom floor.
I finally received drop pans for the stovetop and went grocery shopping, again.
As I proceeded to cook my first meal, you won't believe what happened...
Stay tuned to the Southern Hills Apartments review.
